Itinerary

Nov 8 – Arrive to Colombo International Airport. Meet your Village Experience guide and transfer to hotel in Negombo. Relax for the evening.

Nov 9 – Drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Dambulla Cave Temple. Visit the Buddha statues inside these incredible caves for a step back in time. Stop for lunch and then check into hotel in Sigiriya. Free evening. (B)

Nov 10 – Day trip to the ancient Kingdom of Polonnawura – the second kingdom of Sri Lanka. Walk through this ancient city and marvel at the stupas, statues, and ruins of this once powerful kingdom. Enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan lunch at a family owned restaurant overlooking the rice paddies. Return to hotel for the evening. (B)

Nov 11 – Drive to Kandy – the third kingdom of Sri Lanka – to visit the Sacred Tooth Relic Tomb and the remains of this ancient kingdom. Stop for lunch. Check into hotel for the evening. (B)

Nov 12 – Morning drive to the mountain town of Ella. Stop for lunch. Visit the 9 arches bridge via Tuktuk. Then, check into hotel nestled into the mountains with amazing views of the valley. (B)

Nov 13 – Free day to hike, cycle, enjoy the spa, go in search of waterfalls, visit a tea plantation, or simply relax and take in the view from the hotel. (B)

Nov 14 – Morning drive to Yala National Park. This park is home to leopards, sloth bears, spotted deer, elephant, mongoose, buffalo, and more. Check into accommodations and enjoy the pool and the beach.

Nov 15 – Morning safari to go in search of wildlife in Yala National Park. Early morning is when the predators are out looking for prey…so get your cameras ready! Return to hotel for lunch and relaxation or opt to do an afternoon safari. (B)

Nov 16 – Morning drive to the city of Galle stopping at Coconut Tree Hill in Mirissa for some incredible ocean views and lunch. Check into hotel inside the UNESCO World Heritage Galle Fort. Free evening to explore, shop and eat. (B)

Nov 17 – Morning walking tour of the major sites within the UNESCO World Heritage Galle Fort including the Lighthouse, the Fort itself and the the Clock Tower, All Saint’s Church, and more. Enjoy a Sri Lankan Cooking Class and lunch in the afternoon – incredible food! Free evening to hang out in Galle or take a Tuktuk to the beach . (B,L)

Nov 18 –  Morning drive to Colombo, the current capital of Sri Lanka. Stop at Barefoot Fair Trade Store for artisan shopping and lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Red Mosque and Gangaramaya Temple. Check into hotel in Negombo for the evening. (B)

Nov 19 – Transfers to airport throughout the day. (B)
