Welcome

The Village Experience is a socially responsible company that supports our partners abroad through efforts in international tourism and fair trade. Throughout our travels in the developing world, one thing has always stuck with us: we must do more.

The Village Experience is the perfect vehicle to help us accomplish this. It allows us to bring awareness to the plight of people in the developing world. It allows us to help struggling economies throughout the world by supporting tourism and local trade. And it allows us to give back through financial and in-kind donations. TVE bridges the gap of understanding between the many different cultures in the world. And most importantly, it allows us to instill a sense of responsibility, a feeling of humility, and a desire to act in everyone we encounter to make this world a better place in which to live.

We feel as though there is no better education than traveling the world. History comes alive as you travel to ancient palaces in India, venture through the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, or climb an ancient Mayan temple in Guatemala. Once you experience the world in this manner, you are forever changed. We have witnessed firsthand the effects that traveling and developing meaningful relationships around the world has had on individuals – from career changes to activism to international philanthropy and many more.

The world is shrinking and what happens overseas greatly affects our daily lives, whether we know it or not! The Village Experience is designed to educate and expose Westerners to other cultures and global issues through its intense and highly interactive cultural trips. These trips highlight local experiences, adventures, humanitarian work, environmental education, and cultural visits. The important thing is that the traveler takes something away from this experience that will change their life and the lives of those around them. Check out the itineraries posted on this website, and you will see what we are talking about.

Through our private label fair trade line, Sora Nomad, we are able to employ artisans in India that would otherwise struggle to find stable and reliable work. We work with young women who have been recently rescued from the human trafficking industry, generational family artisans, and single mothers. Our stylish and functional handbags are inspired from our travels and reflect the beauty of India.

Our non-profit arm, The Village Cooperative, has raised over 2 million dollars for our partners in Kenya, Thailand, Guatemala, India, Cambodia, Costa Rica, and Haiti. The Village Cooperative has a mission of total transparency, and we enjoy nothing more than taking our funders overseas to see the programs that they have supported first hand in action.

We hope that you are as excited about the socially responsible tourism, fair trade, and international philanthropy movement as we are! Join us in our mission to Move Forward by Giving Back…

Sincerely,
Kelly and Anne Campbell
