The Village Experience is a socially pro-active business dedicated to uplifting impoverished communities in the developing world through efforts in international trade and tourism. Proceeds are used to support the mission of The Village Cooperative.
Our Commitment
At The Village Experience, travel inspires impact. We have implemented programs to tackle social justice issues such as access to education & healthcare, women’s empowerment, and sustainability in our communities. Every time you travel with TVE, we grant a donation to one of our partner communities in need. It is only through this unique relationship of responsible travel + philanthropy, that we have been to support communities in need.
Socially Responsible Tourism
Our responsible tourism programs focus on cultural education, community immersion, and adventure. They are designed to give the traveler a real, off-the-beaten path, village experience. We pride ourselves on creating tourism opportunities around the world that strive to uplift and empower the communities we visit. We are proud to support tourism across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Central America.
Fair Trade
We visit artisans who create beautiful, handcrafted products globally. We believe strongly in supporting fair wages, preserving the local culture, and helping to uplift the artisan’s family. You can expect to visit fair trade workshops, cooperatives and local markets on many of our travel experiences.
International Development
The Village Experience works to create philanthropic opportunities for our travelers in partnership with our community projects around the world. We believe in “Traveling with Heart”…that’s why we created The Village Cooperative, a 501(c)3 organization. Whether traveling with us to the community or supporting them through donations from a distance, you can make a difference in the lives of the people we work alongside every day.
