Enjoy the best of Indonesia

Consisting of over 17,000 islands, Indonesia is sure to excite any traveler! Situated amongst the Indian and Pacific Oceans, The Indonesian Archipelago has unearthed fossilized relics known as “The Java Man” that suggest this region was inhabited between two million and 500,000 years ago. Geographically, it’s a traveler’s paradise…boasting miles of beaches, rainforest, mountains, and volcanoes.

Begin in Bali by exploring the many temples on the island including Goa Gajal Elephant Cave Temple, Pura Ulan Danu Bratan Temple, and Pura Tanah Lot Temple – all incredibly holy and important to the local community. Then head over to Ubud to learn about artisan handicrafts, photograph the famous rice paddies, and enjoy the Sacred Monkey Forest. We also love stopping in the coffee producing area of Munduk to sip some delicious cappuccinos and relax in the forest.

You’ll then want to head over to Yogatarkta on the island of Java to see the UNESCO World Heritage Borobudur Temple. This is the world’s largest Buddhist Temple complex dating back to the 9th century. Trek through the site and learn the history of this incredible religious monument. Breath-taking to say the least!

Be sure to explore Sumatra and trek to see the critically endangered wild orangutangs who live in Bukit Lawang National Park along with the long tailed macaques and Thomas Leaf monkeys. This will be a unique experience to see these animals in their natural habitat. We suggest visiting the newly opened Sun Bear Sanctuary to learn about the conservation of the smallest bear species and the illegal wildlife trade threatening them.

And don’t forget to enjoy the beaches and get underwater for snorkeling or scuba diving – remember this is an island archipelago!
