Itinerary

August 10 – Catch flight from JKIA to Kigali. Meet your TVE representative and stop for a local lunch and coffee. Use ATM or bank. Check into Heaven Hotel for the day. This hotel has a great artisan gift shop and several restaurants onsite.

August 11 – Meet your guide and visit the Genocide Memorial, Question Coffee, and Nyamirambo Women’s Center. Return to Heaven Hotel (B)

August 12 – Late morning drive to Volcanoes National Park. Stop for lunch along the way. Check into Five Volcanoes Lodge and enjoy bonfire and dinner in the evening. (B,D)

August 13 – Head to park headquarters for your morning Golden Monkey trek. Return to lodge for lunch. Then, embark on an afternoon boat ride on the twin lakes of Lakes Burera and Ruhondo. (B,L,D)

August 14 – Head to park headquarters for your morning Gorilla Trek. Hike through the park in search of your assigned family and then spend an hour observing them in the wild. Return to lodge for lunch. Free afternoon for massage, time to go through photos, and rest. (B,L,D)

August 15 – Late morning drive back to Kigali. Stop for lunch. Check back into Heaven Hotel. (B)

August 16 – Drive to Akagera National Park in the morning. Check into Ruzizi tented camp in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Return to camp for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

August 17 – Morning game drive. After lunch, embark on a boat ride on Lake Ihema. Return to camp for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

August 18 – Drive back to Kigali. Stop for lunch. Head to airport for evening flights home. (B)

Vaccinations

Visit the Center for Disease Control website for up-to-date requirements (www.cdc.gov) and/or speak with a local travel doctor regarding vaccinations.

We also advise that you speak with your doctor regarding a prescription for an antibiotic to combat food and water borne illnesses.
