Itinerary

October 7 – Arrive to Windhoek International Airport in Namibia. Meet your Village Experience representative and transfer to the hotel for the evening.

October 8 – Meet your driver and guide in the morning for a tour of the city including stops at Schwerin’s Castle, Christ Church, the Old Fort, the Emperor School, Independence Avenue, and more. Drive 4 hours to your lodge in the Sossusvlei. Enjoy a sundowner nature drive in the evening. (B,D)

October 9 – Spend today discovering the Sossusvlei. Rise and shine to catch sunrise at the Namib-Naukluft Park when the dune contrasts are at their best. Stop at Dune 45 – the world’s most photographed dune. Walk through the Deadvlei, and climb to the top of Big Daddy Dune. After lunch at the lodge, explore the Sesriem Canyon. (B,D)

October 10 – Morning transfer (4 hours) to Swakopmund – a coastal city in Namibia. Enjoy the Welwitschia Tour in the afternoon with your local guide. This tour will take you through the ancient canyons of the Moon Valley, one of the most fascinating areas of the Namib Desert. Learn about the flora and fauna in the area and be on the lookout for Springbok, ostrich, klipspringer, and more. (B)

October 11 – Morning transfer to lodge in Damaraland in time for lunch (4.5 hours). In the afternoon, embark on a tour of the Burnt Mountain, the Organ Pipes, and the rock engravings at Twyfellontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, proceed to the living museum of Damara to experience traditional life. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

October 12 – After breakfast, transfer 3 hours to Etosha National Park. Join your safari guide and embark on a game drive to go in search of the Big 5. Check into safari lodge. (B,D)

October 13 – Full day game drive in Etosha National Park. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

October 14 – Morning transfer to Windhoek International Airport for afternoon flight to Cape Town (4.5 hours). Meet your Village Experience representative and transfer to hotel for the evening. (B)

October 15 – Morning visit to the famous Table Mountain via cable car. Enjoy coffee with a view. Then, head out to the Cape Peninsula to see the African Penguins at Boulder’s Beach. Pass through Fish Hoek on the way to Cape Point – Africa’s Southernmost point and where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Then, travel through Chapman’s Peak on the way back to Cape Town. (B)

October 16 – Day trip to one of the whale watching capitals of the world – Hermanus! Enjoy a city tour upon arrival. Then, embark on a whale watching cruise. Return to Cape Town in the afternoon. (B)

October 17 – Morning transfer to the Cape Town Airport for your flight to Nelspruit Airport. Upon arrival, meet your driver and head one hour to your lodge in Kruger National Park – South Africa’s most famous game park. Check in and enjoy lunch. Game drive through the park in the afternoon with resident safari guide. (B,L,D)

October 18 – All day game drive in Kruger National Park to go in search of the Big 5, over 500 bird species, and more than 100 reptile species. All meals at lodge. (B,L,D)

October 19 – Early morning game drive. Check out after breakfast and head to Timbavati Private Game Reserve (4 hours). Check into your game lodge located on the banks of the Nhlaralumi River. This lodge has a special watering hole popular with the local elephants. This private reserve boasts all of the Big 5 and wild dogs! Enjoy an afternoon game drive. (B,L,D)

October 20 – All day game drive in Timbavati Private Game Reserve with resident safari guide. All meals at lodge. (B,L,D)

October 21 – Early morning game drive. After breakfast, transfer 6 hours to Johannesburg International Airport to catch your evening flight home. (B)

  1. Passport – Your passport must have at least two blank pages and a minimum of six months’ validity from the date of entry.
