Itinerary
Nov 10 – Arrive to Istanbul International Airport (IST). Meet your Village Experience Representative and transfer to hotel in the Galata/Istiklal area.
Nov 11 – Meet your guide in the hotel lobby today and explore the main highlights of Istanbul’s old town – The Blue Mosque, The Aya Sophia, the Hippodrome, and the Basicila Cistern. Stop for a local lunch today. Return to hotel in the afternoon. (B)
Nov 12 – Today, you’ll visit the Topkapi Palace in the morning. Then, venture through the Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian Spice Market. In the evening, embark on a private Bosphorus cruise and take in the stunning scenery. (B)
Nov 13 – Morning check out from hotel and drive to Bursa for a lunch of Iskender Kebab and a visit to the Grand Mosque of Bursa – a unesco world heritage site. Then visit the Green Mosque and the Green Tomb. Continue on to Izmir and check into hotel. (B,L)
Nov 14 – Day trip to the Roman Ruins of Ephesus including the Temple of Artemis which has been designated one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the ancient city, the Greek Theater, Basilica of St. John, House of Virgin Mary, Library of Celsus, Cave of Seven Sleepers, and more today. Return to hotel in the afternoon. (B)
Nov 15 – Morning drive to Pamukkale (known as the Cotton Castle) and the ancient city of Hierapolis. Spend time exploring the travertines of Pamukkale and wandering the ancient roads of Hierapolis. Check into hotel for the evening. (B)
Nov 16 – Morning drive to the city of Konya. Visit the Mevlana Museum – the mausoleum of revered Sufi mystic, Rumi. Enjoy a whirling dervish experience in the evening and a local dinner. (B,D)
Nov 17 – Morning visit to the archeological site of Catalhoyuk – a UNESCO World Heritage site that is over 9,000 years old. Continue on to Cappadocia and check into hotel in Uchisar. (B)
Nov 18 – Morning visit to the Goreme Open Air Museum. Then enjoy a cooking demonstration and lunch with a women’s group specializing in making Manti – Turkish ravioli. Visit the Uchisar Castle in the afternoon and enjoy a wine tasting. Return to hotel. (B,L)
Nov 19 – Optional early morning hot air balloon ride. Return to hotel for breakfast. Then, embark on a visit to Love Valley for a short hike to see the stunning scenery. Make a stop at Imagination Valley. Enjoy lunch in Goreme. Return to hotel. (B)
Nov 20 – Late morning flight back to Istanbul. Check into hotel in the city. Free evening to continue exploring or do some last minute shopping. (B)
