Itinerary

September 21 – Catch flight from Nairobi to Kigali in the evening (client books flight). Check into social enterprise, Heaven Hotel, and relax for the evening. Be sure to read the book about how this social enterprise was started, A Thousand Hills To Heaven, by Josh Ruxin.

September 22 – Late morning tour of Kigali – visit the Genocide Memorial and Nyamirambo Women’s Center. After lunch, drive to Volcanoes National Park. Check into hotel and enjoy the sounds of nature all around you. (B,L,D)

September 23 – Today is the day! Morning trek with the mountain gorillas of Volcanoes National Park. Be sure to hire a local porter and create a job. Free afternoon to relax – we suggest getting a massage. (B,L,D)

September 24 – Morning trek with the adorable golden monkeys in the bamboo forest of Volcanoes National Park. After lunch, head back to Kigali and check into Heaven Hotel for overnight. (B,L)

September 25 – Transfer to airport for flight home. (B)

Flight Reservations

September 21 – Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi (NBO) to Kigali International Airport (KGL)

September 25 – Depart Kigali International Airport (KGL) for international flight home

Vaccinations

Visit the Center for Disease Control website for up-to-date requirements (www.cdc.gov) and/or speak with a local travel doctor regarding vaccinations.

Recommendations for Rwanda include:

Hepatitis A & B
Typhoid

We also advise that you speak with your doctor regarding a prescription for an antibiotic to combat food and water borne illnesses.

- Travel Insurance – Medical evacuation, repatriation and medical coverage are required by The Village Experience. We strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation and trip interruption coverage.
