Itinerary

September 3 – Arrive to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. Meet your hotel representative and transfer to Crowne Plaza for overnight.

September 4 – Meet safari guide, Danson, in the hotel lobby and drive to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Check into Ilekani Tented Camp in time for lunch. Relax and enjoy the bonfire in the evening. (B,L,D)

September 5 & 6 – Enjoy game drives in the Masai Mara and go in search of the Great Migration of Wildebeest and Zebra and the Big 5 – lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo. All meals at camp. (B,L,D)

September 7 – Transfer to airstrip for morning flight to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. Connect to flight to the Lamu Archipelago. Transfer to Forodhani House in Shela Village via boat. (B)

September 8/9/10/11 – Free days in Lamu to enjoy the beach, the pool, do some sailing, and relax. Two sunset dhow trips, a half day sailing trip, and an activity with the Shela Women’s Association are included.

September 12 – Transfer via boat to airport.  Morning flight back to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. Day room at Crowne Plaza until international flight in the evening.

Vaccinations

Visit the Center for Disease Control website for up-to-date requirements (www.cdc.gov) and/or speak with a local travel doctor regarding vaccinations.

NOTE: We also advise that you speak with your doctor regarding a prescription for an antibiotic to combat food and water borne illnesses.

  • Passport – Your passport must have at least two blank pages and a minimum of six months’ validity from the date of entry.

  • Travel Insurance – Medical evacuation, repatriation and medical coverage are required by The Village Experience. We strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation and trip interruption coverage.
