Itinerary

July 18 – Arrive to Nairobi. Meet your hotel representative and transfer to Crowne Plaza for the evening.

July 19 – Meet Danson in the morning and drive to Nakuru to see his house. Check into the Lake Nakuru Lodge and enjoy an evening safari in the park. (B,D)

July 20 – Early morning game drive inside the park. After breakfast, drive to the Mara North Conservancy and check into Karen Blixen Camp. Settle in and relax for the evening. (B,D)

July 21/22 – Venture into the Masai Mara National Reserve on these days for game drives to go in search of the Great Migration and the Big 5. All meals at camp. (B,L,D)

July 23 – Morning drive back to Nairobi. Stop for lunch and artisan shopping. Check into Crowne Plaza for the evening. (B)

July 24 – Transfer to airport and catch the morning flight to Lamu. Meet your TVE representative and transfer via boat to Shela Village. Check into Moonhouses. Head over to Peponi for lunch and some relaxation. (B)

July 25 – Walking tours of Shela and Lamu today to see the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Evening samosa class with the Shela Women’s Assocation. (D)

July 26 – Visit Nyambura and the kids of Ubunifu Lamu today. Then head over to Yusuf’s Shamba for lunch. Sunset dhow trip in the evening. (L)

July 27 – Spend today sailing around the islands and enjoy a fresh fish bbq with the Hippo Dhow team. Afternoon flight to Nairobi Wilson Airport. Transfer to JKIA to catch international flight home. (B,L)

Danson

Danson has served as the main safari guide for The Village Experience for the past 10 years. He is a certified naturalist and bird watching specialist. Danson has traveled to America, Europe, and Thailand learning new tourism initiatives and meeting with clients as part of The Village Experience Kenya team. He assists in ground operations and projects throughout mainland Kenya and is happy to welcome Village Experience passengers to Kenya.
