Turkey is a melting pot of cultures, religions, and customs due to its unique location on both the continent of Europe and the continent of Asia. Turkey boasts incredible antiquities, history, and architecture like no other place in the world. There is evidence to suggest that Turkey is one of the world’s earliest permanently settled regions. Just imagine the religious relics, cultural experiences, varied cuisines, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and museums this country has to share with travelers!

Explore the bustling city of Istanbul by visiting the city’s historical sites including Galata Tower, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, and Topkapi Palace…the seat of the Ottoman Empire for over 400 years. Get lost in the Grand Bazaar. This Bazaar is said to be the largest and oldest covered bazaar in the world, spanning 61 streets and boasting 4000 stalls. You will want to spend the day soaking up the local culture and exploring this magical place while in Istanbul. Don’t forget to take a boat ride on the Bosporus – a truly magical experience.

One of our favorite places in Turkey is the otherworldly city of Cappadocia. This UNESCO World Heritage City is known for its lunar caves, fairy chimneys, underground cities, cave churches, and Instagram famous hot air balloon rides. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Goreme Open Air Museum boasting amazing Byzantine art displayed in well preserved rock cut churches and chapels. Enjoy a visit to a local pottery cooperative, shop for handmade carpets, and try delicious Turkish cuisine and local wine made in Cappadocia to round out your trip to Turkey.
