We have been working alongside these partner communities with Vamos Adelante for over 17 years and continue to support and strengthen our relationships with them each and every year. FOOD DISTRIBUTION TO THE ELDERLY
The Village Experience has been working alongside Vamos Adelante from day one to provide essential food items to more than 100 elderly and malnourished participants living in seven villages along the slopes of Volcano Fuego. These villages include Osuna, Chuchu, Zapote, Ceylan, Santa Marta, Lucerna, and San Felipe. We work to ensure that the most neglected and underserved are seen and given the most basic of food items, such as long life milk, bread, pasta, rice, beans, coffee, tea, sugar, cereals, and more. We also did many distributions of cleaning materials during the Covid pandemic to ensure this vulnerable community was safe. Our group will be funding, packing and distributing essential items in several villages as part of this lifesaving program while we are in Guatemala. This program will make you cry happy tears!

CEYLAN & LUCERNAS BED/MATTRESS PROGRAM
The villages of Ceylan and Lucernas are located on the slopes of Fuego Volcano - an active volcano to this day. These communities are isolated and often forgotten about by the government. They are compromised mostly of migrant coffee and sugar cane workers and their families. The Village Experience has partnered with Vamos Adelante over the years to construct new classrooms for the primary schools, build a playground for the kids, provide essential educational supplies to the teachers, improve the housing situation for families in need, and distribute hygiene and cleaning kits during the COVID pandemic.
This year, we will be working closely with Vamos Adelante to provide beds, mattresses, and blankets to families living in dire poverty in these two villages. These basic necessities are often out of reach for families in these communities, so our fundraising efforts will be much appreciated.
