Located in the Middle East and bordered by Israel, The West Bank, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, Jordan is positioned in a very important historical location. Jordan boasts over 100,000 archeological sites, including Petra, the capital of The Nabatean Kingdom dating back to 300 B.C. Petra, known as “The Lost City” was once thought to inhabit nearly 20,000 people and was an important trading post. It contains tombs and temples carved into the pink sandstone, revealing an incredibly intricate history.
Religious buffs will be excited to journey onto Mount Nebo, the site where Moses looked out onto the Promised Land. Jordan boasts so many well-preserved religious relics, including the Madaba map, Moses Memorial Church and The Serpent Statue.
Head out into the community and be immersed into Bedouin life, learning about culture and everyday customs.
A visit to Jordan would not be complete without a stop at The Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is the lowest point on the earth, nearly 1400 feet below sea level. Take a dip in the salty waters known for healing and purification.
Jordan is home to The Wadi Rum, known as The Valley of the Moon. The Wadi Rum desert is home to sandstone mountains, archways and formations. Take a jeep through the valley during the day, and star gaze at night.
Jordan has so much to offer the adventurous traveler!
